Vesta’s chief festival was the Vestalia, a weeklong celebration held annually from June seven–fifteen. During the Vestalia, barefoot maidens shaped a procession bringing about the Temple of Vesta, the place they would make offerings on the goddess. The Vestalia was enormously well-liked—following the rise of Christianity from the Roman Em
